QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager for our Pensacola, Florida operations. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for performing the essential functions described below under the direct supervision of the Area Manager.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing quality control operations and ensuring all asphalt products meet industry standards and customer specifications
  • Supervise and train quality control technicians, conduct performance evaluation, and provide quality awareness within the team
  • Maintain records of quality control testing
  • Oversee the testing and inspection of road construction materials, paving techniques, and equipment being used, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and Granular Base Course (GBC) to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Ensure all lab activities are conducted in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
  • Analysis of test data to identify trends, deviations and areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Prepare and present reports to management
  • Collaborate with management to address quality issues and implement process improvements
  • Develop and update quality control training programs for staff
  • Ensures manufactured asphalt meets DOT, customer, and job specifications
  • Assists in mix design development and changes in plant production
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in asphalt quality control required
  • Asphalt Paving Level 2 and Asphalt Plant Level 2 Certifications required
  • Knowledge of industry standards and testing procedures for asphalt products required
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be able to work days, nights (including 3rd shift), and weekends as needed
  • Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
  • Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license
  • Employer conducts drug screening and background check
