Asphalt Roller Operator

Job Overview

Meseyton Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating asphalt rollers to achieve proper compaction, density, and smoothness on various paving projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various types of asphalt rollers (breakdown, intermediate, and finish) to achieve proper compaction and smoothness of asphalt surfaces.
• Monitor compaction quality, ensuring proper density, consistency, and surface finish.
• Adjust rolling patterns and techniques based on the asphalt type, temperature, and project requirements.
• Work closely with the paving crew to maintain efficient workflow and timely project completion.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance to ensure equipment safety and performance.
• Identify and report any issues with equipment or road conditions that may affect quality.
• Follow all safety regulations and company protocols on and off the job site.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Asphalt Roller Operator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of asphalt compaction processes and equipment operation.
• Ability to identify compaction needs based on mix type, mat thickness, and environmental conditions.
• Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or higher preferred).
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor conditions, including heat and inclement weather.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
